Hi, I’m Alice The Fabric Ninja
I'm Alice, the creator of the Fabric Ninja Sewing Patterns & Blog.
Lots of people know how to sew, but I also know how to teach. I’m here to support you on your sewing journey. Everyone was once a beginner.
My classes make it easy to learn a new skill by breaking everything into easy to learn bites. Learning a skill makes us feel more competent in life, and it gives us something to show off when we are done.
That is one of the reasons I love quick projects. It’s a quick win. I get some time sewing and allow myself to totally fall into the creative zone, picking fabrics and mixing colors. Then I get to show off what I made.
The skills you learn in this class can be easily transferred into a small business. Make scrunchies, zippered pouches, hand warmers, etc. Great to sell or give as gifts and take some pressure off your Holiday budget.
You will be picking out a pattern for your next project in no time.
"I will say that this course is perfect for me. I've never used a sewing machine in my life, and so even plugging it in felt daunting. Zero to Sew gets you comfortable with all the pieces of the machine, prior to learning to thread it. Each step gives me the confidence to proceed." -Jaclyn B.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will I have access to the course?
You get lifetime access to this course, so you can work through it at your own pace
What supplies do I need for the class?
A sewing machine is the most important supply for the class. Then you will need a little bit of fabric, a spool of thread, and a few basic supplies like scissors. Check out the course curriculum for specifics. The entire unit on sewing supplies is available for preview.
Are the videos captioned?
Yes! All videos are captioned. Actual captions, not just auto-captioned.
How long will it take me?
Many students have completed this course within a month and now they are sewing away! You can take as much time as you need to complete this course at your own pace.
What makes this class different?
A lot of people know how to sew, you have probably seen them all over YouTube. What makes me different, is that I also know how to teach. You get clear instructions and clear visuals, that are broken up into bite-size portions perfect for digesting new material.
Do I need to know anything about sewing to start?
You don’t need any previous knowledge about sewing. Zero-to-Sew will take you from Completely Clueless to Absolutely Fearless. I will help you overcome any fear or anxiety that you have about sewing with easy-to-follow directions and simple projects. First, we start by taking that machine out of the box.
It is virtual or in person?
This class is 100% online. The lessons are pre-recorded videos with text and PDF hand-outs where helpful. Zero-to-Sew makes it easy to learn a new skill by breaking everything into easy to learn lessons. An exclusive Facebook group is provided to post assignments, share your victories, and ask questions. I answer all questions personally, as soon as I see them (at times immediately).
Can I see what’s in the course?
Sure thing! You can see a course curriculum preview on the sales page near the top. The welcome unit and supply section is available for full preview. You are able to view the titles of all the other sections as well.
Do I need a printer?
Sewing patterns include measurements (cm and inches), so you don’t have to print them out. You can just use a ruler to draw them. The total number of pages you may wish to print is small, so it should cost you less than $2 to print if you wish to.
How much will supplies cost?
There is a section in the supply unit about how to save money. For example, scissors from the dollar store will cut fabric, as long as they have never cut paper. Also, you might already have some supplies. For example - a hotel sewing kit will have a hand sewing needle.
Do you have a payment plan? Yes! I offer a three payment plan for both the early-bird and regular price.
Is this class good for kids?
In my first batch of students, two 9 years olds were working through the class with their grandmother. The kids were able to do all the sections in the course, but needed some help with shopping, troubleshooting, and safety. It was a great bonding experience for the grandma and her grandkids.
What if I don’t like the course?
I’m so confident you will find the course useful, I have a 30-day money-back happiness guarantee!
