Woven Fabric  (not stretchy) 

Quilting cotton is smooth and feels like a dress shirt or sheets.

You can purchase it by the yard or meter, from a bolt. In some fabric shops (mostly in the USA) they have pre-cut smaller amounts like Fat Quarters (18”x22”). Fat quarters come in sets or are sold one at a time.

You need: 

• Two coordinating fabrics that have some contrast. 
• Get ¼ yard or .25 meter cut of each fabric or buy 2 Fat Quarters (18”x22”), one of each fabric. 
• You can buy extra if you want choices when working.

Tips: Make sure you can’t “read the newspaper” through it.
